Story Development

The opening sequence will commence in a country park, presenting someone walking their dog in order to convey to the audience that the narrative takes place in a common place rather than an isolated area. This creates worry and wonder within the audience along with fear, as the victim can be anyone, including innocent bystanders. A person rushes past them, escaping an unknown source, leading them to fall and hit their head.

We then present this person, who is a patient suffering schizophrenia, in a psychiatric ward sitting in front of a doctor. When asked if they are okay, there is a flashback of this person waking up in an unknown place looking panicked before a figure obscures the camera view and the scene cuts. This then cuts back to the conversation between the doctor and patient, where after the doctor asks if the patient is okay, tells them they are crazy in a slightly evil and uncaring manner. This then causes the main character to have a breakdown. They run to a mirror and there we finally see his inside voices personified and looking back at him.

We used the basic plot in the questionnaire and asked after reading it how interested in the film they are, the majority of the people asked said that after reading it they were moderately intrigued or above. In the focus group the overall view of our idea was that if filmed and edited well it will be a really good opening scene.
